Bitcoin Blasts Past $100K to New All-Time High
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) smashed through six figures for the first time ever during January's market rally. On U.S. Inauguration Day (Jan. 20), BTC hit an intraday peak around $109,000 – a fresh record high. The surge came amid optimism for a crypto-friendly administration and frenzied trading of new Trump-themed tokens.
Bitcoin quickly retraced some gains after topping out (slipping back to ~$102K later that day). Still, the psychological $100K milestone was decisively cleared. By mid-January, Bitcoin was holding above $100K on strong momentum. Analysts noted macro tailwinds like cooling inflation and renewed institutional interest contributing to BTC's explosive move into six digits.
