'Nation Token' Airdrops to 1 Million Users in Decentralization Experiment

A new project out of Romania, The Nation Token (NATO), officially launched with an unprecedented airdrop to 1,000,000 Base blockchain wallets. In the airdrop (conducted in late December but announced March 28), 74% of the 1 trillion total NATO supply was distributed equally – each recipient got 740,000 NATO tokens.

The team locked liquidity on Uniswap until 2030 to encourage long-term decentralization. NATO is positioned as a community-governed asset (#PowerToThePeople), aiming to avoid the insider dominance seen in other projects. The token is now trading on Uniswap and exchanges like Poloniex and AscendEX, with plans for a governance platform to let its broad base of holders steer the project.
